Assam Engineering College which is the first Government college in the North-East India celebrated its golden jubilee in 2005. The glorious journey of AEC started the admission of its first batch of students only in Civil engineering in the year 1955. The college is currently offering not only the B.E. courses in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial and Production, Instrumentation, Computer Science and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, but also Post Graduate and Ph.D courses in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
