About Us

Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology (CIT) runs under the auspices of Sri Channabasaveshwara Swamy Rural Education Society (CRED Society). The society was established in 2000 under the Chairmanship of Sri G.S.Basavaraj, the honourable Member of Parliament from Tumkur with a vision to create centres of excellence in education and other related fields and to serve the society to enhance the quality of life through excellence and leadership in professionally relevant education.CIT was established in the year 2001 with the objective of providing quality technical education. The institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Recognized by Government of Karnataka. The institute is ISO 9001:2008 Certified and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Institute is located near Gubbi, Tumkur, ~ 80 KM from Bangalore on National Highway 206. The Campus spreads across 60 Acres of lush green land with beautiful landscaping. The area enjoys pleasant atmosphere throughout the year.
