Government College Kariavattom is located at Kariavattom in the Kazhakuttom Ward of Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and is nearly 14 kms north of Thiruvananthapuram. The college is about 400m, along the Kariavattom- Chankottukonam Road, from Kariavattom junction on the Sreekaryam-Kazhakuttom Highway. The college, established in 1993, is affiliated to the University of Kerala and is accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Agency (NAAC) with a B Grade.The courses offered in the college include 7 first degree programmes under the Choice Based Credit and Semester Scheme(CBCSS) and 2 postgraduate degree programmes in science disciplines. The College is encircled by the Kerala University campus on the South, the Green Field International Stadium on the West and the Lekshmi Bhai National College of Physical Education on the North.
